Senior Accountant
Location: Southern Jersey
Salary: $65,000-$75,000
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Prepare, or review and verify, accounting, financial and statistical statements and reports.
Perform studies and prepare reports to management regarding 1the effects of using alternate accounting methods for financial reporting and tax purposes.
Prepare, or review and verify, analysis and statements for reporting to Board of Directors and Senior Management.
Represent department at company meetings and present proper accounting methods and practices for various issues as required.
Review established accounting practices and procedures. Recommend changes in and additions to such practices and procedures. Implement such changes where applicable.
Assist the Director, Accounting Operations in scheduling and directing the activities of the General Accounting Department and assign duties to employees within the department.
Prepare, or review and verify annual and monthly budget projections and analyze variances on a monthly basis.
Prepare, or review and verify, quarterly and annual financial statements for internal and external purposes.
Keep, or directs, subordinates in keeping prescribed ledgers for various assets and liability accounts.
Perform duties inherent in all supervisory, professional and administrative positions.
PREREQUISITES:
A four year Bachelors degree in accounting. CPA preferred.
A minimum of five years of prior accounting experience.
Experience in financial statement preparation and good communication skills are required.
Supervisory experience is preferred.
Knowledge of general accounting and financial practices associated with the industry and SEC filings is desirable.
