Job Description:
Sr. Accountant – Fixed Assets – Wilmington, DE
Role Description:
GAAP and Tax accounting and reporting for Fixed Asset records
Ensuring consistent application of policies and procedures
Customer-service support to BUs in asset research, specific reports, depreciation expense reviews and other areas
Monthly Oracle closing processes for assigned BUs:
Retirements
Transfers
Adjustments
Journal entries
Account analysis
Reconciliations between external database systems such as fleet management and the Oracle subsidiary
Responsibility for Excel⁄Oracle process to create asset records arising from acquisitions for all BUs
Routine interaction with internal and external auditors: schedules, documentation, responses (for assigned BUs)
Support of tax accounting for fixed assets:
Book controls
Review of special treatment items
Special projects
Identify and drive opportunities to improve⁄streamline business processes; participate and contribute to Policy enhancements
Escalate Non-Routine Issues To Fixed Asset Team Lead
Other duties and projects as assigned
Experience:
4+ years of accounting experience, Oracle Fixed Assets, Oracle General Ledger and Hyperion experience a plus⁄ SAP a plus
Tax Accounting
Knowledge of accounting theory: B⁄S P⁄L interrelationship, intercompany accounting, accruals, statements
Knowledge of tax depreciation rules and reporting
Solid knowledge of Excel (2003), some Access
Education:
BS Accounting or related degree
